From Flops to #4 on Gumroad

My digital product just hit #4 in Gumroad's social media niche.

But let's be real: This wasn't my first attempt.

I had 3 products before this that completely flopped.

Barely any sales...

So what changed the 4th time?

Specificity.

Most creators try to appeal to everyone. Big mistake.

Instead of a "Become Fit Course",

think:

"Fitness for Busy Tech CEOs in Their 40s Looking to Boost Productivity and Family Time Through Better Health."

Sounds niche? That's the point.

When you speak to everyone, you speak to no one.

But when you nail your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)…

Magic happens!

And if you now tweak your content to that specific person, the sales will 📈

Because if you would be that CEO looking to be more productive,

this would be the only product speaking to exactly him or her.

(almost forcing them to buy.)

Before this product, I dug deep:

• Ran polls on Instagram

• Had one-on-one chats with followers

• A/B tested everything (yeah, even the name!)

Understanding your audience isn't just about what they need.

It's about what keeps them up at night.

What they've tried that didn't work.

What they're willing to pay to solve.

Now, I know that most courses and gurus are trash,

and the key to not becoming one is to teach what you do yourself daily!

Because then it's not theory. It's “PROVEN“.

This allows me to share real results, continually improve,

and speak authentically about the value.

So, what action can you take with this in mind?

1. Get specific with your ICP. Really specific.

2. List their top pain points.

3. Create (or refine) your product to address these directly.

4. Test your messaging. Does it resonate with your ICP?

Another side note…

If you host a product that you would not buy yourself every day of the week,

don’t expect your viewers to do so.

You want it to be a no-brainer to buy, like:

Give me $1, and I’ll give you $10 back - type of thing.

If it is that good everyone will buy it.
