And I'm about to break down the foolproof framework for creating videos that'll keep your viewers hooked like a teenager on TikTok.

Introducing the "Hook-Retain-Reward" formula:

Hook 'em hard

You've got 3 seconds to reel in your viewer. (literally)

Start with a bang by teasing the juicy value they're about to receive or the problem you're about to solve. I have seen way too many of these:

“Hey, my name’s John, and today...”, I mean, no offense to John, but we don’t give a shit. Instead, use:

- Here’s how I [X]...

- Stop [X] instead…

- You are ruining your [X] if you don’t [Y]...

Rapid-fire value delivery

Once you've got 'em hooked, it's time to keep 'em engaged.

Switch up your scenes faster than a magician playing Three-card Monte. No, but about every sentence in your video should be a new scene.

Most importantly…

make sure the video has actual value.

Editing sure helps, but when you see a granny with some massive makeup, I mean, it helps, but we all know the truth haha. Speaking of that👇

School 'em with something new

Now that you've got their attention,

it's time to drop some knowledge bombs.

Give your viewers a perspective shift or a skill they can put into action ASAP.

This is the way to get followers since they want to come back for more.

Finish strong with a call-to-value

If your content is good, which I hope (value-wise), you have two options:

A. Ask for them to follow (only works if the video they watched gave them some insight or knowledge)

B. Give something by having them comment on the video. This will help them even more, and heck, if they like the free stuff, it will most likely lead to more people wanting to work with you. Win-win.

Now, go out there and create some binge-worthy content that'll make your viewers smash that "follow” button.
