Steal My Exact Video Settings...

Sponsored by

Hey friend,

If you use CapCut for your content,

This is going to be a game-changer.

I just wanted to share the exact export settings I've been using to get millions of views on Instagram.

These settings have made a noticeable difference in my reach:

  1. Add a filter with 20-30% sharpness over your entire video before exporting

  2. Set framerate to 60 if you use animations (smoother playback)

  3. Use H.264 codec

  4. Set bitrate to higher than default

  5. For resolution, go with 4K

Some "gurus" still swear by 1080p,

But the Instagram CEO himself confirmed that

"the higher quality, the better Instagram will be able to process the video."

So you basically, want to crank everything to the max.

Your content will look more professional,

The viewers will like it more,

And Instagram will reward you with more reach.

But here's the thing...

While export settings are crucial,

There are some even MORE important factors that most creators overlook:

Quality In = Quality Out

The quality of your source footage and assets matters more than any export setting.

This might sound obvious,

But I see so many creators using low-quality screen recordings or blurry stock footage.

It’s like: Can you cook with poor ingredients? - yes,

but it will be hard to fail if you had great stuff to begin with.

Let’s get serious

Your newsletter, now exiting the stratosphere.

We’re beehiiv, the newsletter platform built for builders. Every product we drop and feature we create is made with one goal in mind: exponential growth.

Our founders sought to bring the tools and tech to creators everywhere that helped turn their old company into a multi-million dollar operation. So when we say we can take you from “up-and-comer” to household name, we mean it.

If you need a beautiful destination for your content, use our no-code website builder. If you want paid subs, we don’t take a dime. If you want big name sponsors, we connect you with the likes of Nike and Netflix.

In short: maybe your newsletter is stuck on the ground floor because your newsletter platform is stuck in the last decade.

Edit for Phone Viewing

Remember that you're editing for a phone format!

What looks big and crispy on your computer screen might be tiny and unreadable on mobile.

This is especially important with screen recordings and text.

Always watch your final video on your phone before posting to make sure everything is visible and readable.

I can't tell you how many times I've had to redo a video because I couldn't read my own text on mobile.

The Sound Test

About 80% of Instagram users scroll with sound OFF.

They're at work,

On the toilet,

Or in public places where they can't play audio.

Before posting any video, I always do two tests:

  1. Watch it on my phone

  2. Watch it with NO sound

Make sure your video has captions and is still fully understandable without audio.

This single tip alone can double your retention rates.

Alright, try these settings and tips on your next video and let me know if it helps!
